Plastiks Achieves ISO 9001:2015 Certification for Quality Management System

Operational Excellence, Verified. Impact, Assured.
In a major milestone for our organization and our partners, Plastiks has officially achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification, the globally recognized standard for Quality Management System.
This certification validates the robustness of our internal processes and our commitment to continuous improvement in the delivery of blockchain-based plastic recovery solutions. It is a formal recognition that the methodology we use to verify plastic recovery meets ISO 9001:2015 international standard for stakeholders, clients, and recovery entities, this achievement signals more than compliance, it’s a guarantee of rigor, consistency, transparency, traceability and trust across every plastic credit issued through the Plastiks platform.
What Is ISO 9001:2015 — And Why Does It Matter?
ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard for Quality Management System (QMS), established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It defines the criteria for building operational systems that consistently meet customer, legal, and regulatory requirements—while promoting continual improvement and risk-based thinking.
What makes this standard critical is its universal applicability. It is recognized across industries and borders as a benchmark for operational integrity, customer satisfaction, and process control.
For a platform like Plastiks—one that operates at the intersection of blockchain, environmental recovery, and ESG accountability—being ISO 9001:2015 certified proves that our internal methodologies are not only fit for purpose but aligned with global best practices.
In an industry where transparency is often self-declared, this certification provides external validation that Plastiks delivers on its promises—with verified and documented processes and measurable outcomes.
Although Plastiks is ISO 9001:2015 certified, we have developed an Integrated Management System (IMS) policy that looks ahead to the future, as we plan to pursue certifications in additional areas. This policy serves as a strategic framework to unify quality, environmental, and health & safety standards under one cohesive system. At the same time, we are committed to implementing environmental and occupational health & safety best practices across all our processes.
Operational Leadership Behind ISO Certification
Turning Vision into Systems, and Systems into Standards
Achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification required more than good intentions—it demanded operational discipline, documented control, and structured leadership. At Plastiks, this transformation was led by Ana Aguilar, Chief Operating Officer, who oversees all internal systems, quality protocols, and process integration across the organization and Delfina Achinelly whose leadership and in-depth knowledge of ISO standards played a vital role in aligning the company’s operations with certification requirements.
Delfina led the implementation of the necessary changes to meet ISO 9001:2015 criteria, ensuring that each update reflected best practices in quality management. Under Delfina Achinelly, head of Methodology and Verification, guidance the team mapped its proprietary verification framework into a format that aligns with ISO's core principles: customer focus, risk management, and continual improvement. The certification is a direct result of her strategic direction in scaling our operational maturity while staying rooted in traceable impact.
“Achieving ISO 9001:2015 validates the operational standards we’ve built across every part of our value chain,” says Ana. “It reinforces our commitment to ensuring that every plastic credit and carbon credit generated through plastic waste collection and recycling is verifiable, traceable, and aligned with real-world impact.”
This level of quality management ensures that our partners, clients, and stakeholders engage with a system that is not only transparent—but internationally certified for its reliability.
How ISO 9001:2015 Validates the Plastiks Methodology
Structured for Impact. Certified for Quality.
Plastiks’ proprietary three-step methodology—which underpins the issuance of every plastic credit—was designed to ensure that recovery efforts are not only impactful, but traceable, verifiable, and accountable. With ISO 9001:2015 certification, this methodology now carries formal recognition for its structure, rigor, and effectiveness.
Each step aligns closely with ISO's pillars of quality management:
Step 1: Processes and Roadmap Definition
- Understand organization's processes
- Verify documentation needed to plastic credits correct issuance
- Identify the roadmap to be funded with plastic credits and its budget
- Establishing measurable impact objectives across social, environmental, and operational dimensions, reflecting ISO’s emphasis on customer focus and planning.
Step 2: Accreditation
questionnaire– Conducting in-depth assessments of legal, financial, human resources, sustainability and other operational practices, in line with ISO’s standards for documentation control and quality management.
Step 3: Platform Integration
Enabling blockchain-based traceability, digital profiling, and performance monitoring—fulfilling ISO requirements around transparency and data-driven decision-making.
Delfina Achinelly, Head of Methodology and Verification at Plastiks, played a pivotal role in aligning these operational components with ISO 9001:2015 standard. She ensured that our impact model, built on recovery integrity and digital verification, could meet the needed criteria.
“This certification is the result of designing processes that meet both sustainability goals and ISO quality benchmarks,” explains Delfina. “Our recovery entities now operate within a framework that is trusted, traceable, transparent, and results driven.”
With ISO 9001:2015 certification, every credit issued through Plastiks reflects not just a recovery action—but a verified, quality-assured process from end to end.
What This Means for Stakeholders
Verified Trust Across Every Touchpoint
The ISO 9001:2015 certification is more than an internal milestone—it strengthens Plastiks’ value proposition to every stakeholder in our ecosystem.
For recovery entities, it affirms that Plastiks operates a credible, standardized, and verifiable platform—giving them a pathway to issue plastic credits within an internationally certified framework. This enhances their legitimacy in local and global partnerships.
For corporate clients and sustainability buyers, the certification offers added assurance that every plastic credit purchased is underpinned by a documented, quality-controlled process. It ensures alignment with regulatory expectations, including those set by ESG reporting frameworks, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) policies, and the upcoming CSRD directive in the EU.
For investors and regulators, it demonstrates that Plastiks has transitioned from a high-potential platform to an operationally mature, systematized organization—capable of scaling impact while managing risk, data integrity, and compliance.
By embedding ISO 9001:2015 certification into our methodology, we offer not only blockchain-based traceability, but governance-grade assurance—a combination rarely seen in the sustainability tech space.
Certified Quality. Driven by Impact.
With ISO 9001:2015 certification, Plastiks reinforces its position as a trusted, traceable, and compliant platform for the plastic recovery and sustainability industry. This milestone isn’t just about meeting a global standard, it’s about setting one.
